Four Bodies Show Up Dead in NY

A police search for a missing 24-year-old prostitute turned up the remains of four corpses on a Long Island beach; the New York Post has already called them victims of a modern-day “Jack the Ripper.” One of the bodies is believed to be that of Shannan Gilbert, the missing woman who set off the search; one of the other bodies was female, while the other two were too decomposed to immediately identify their genders. Gilbert was last known to be going to meet a person she met on Craigslist on Fire Island, which is across the inlet from where the bodies were found.

Never go meet someone from Craigslist. Did the Craigslist killer mean nothing to you?!? Guess not...

A jaw bone found on a beach in Aruba is being tested to see if any DNA or dental records match up with that of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway, who vanished on the Caribbean island five years ago. Can you believe it's been 5 years?!?

The bone was supposedly found Friday by tourists, who took it to the front desk of the nearby Phoenix Hotel, who subsequently forwarded it to authorities.

Netherlands National Forensic Institute spokeswoman Inge Oevering told CNN, "The prosecutor's office of Aruba sent us some bone material," adding the testing process traditionally takes a week to complete.
It’s still unknown if the jaw bone belonged to an animal or human being, CNN reported. If there is any match, the bone would be the first shred of evidence in connection with Holloway’s disappearance.

Joran van der Sloot - who's been arrested twice in connection with Holloway’s disappearance - is accused of extorting the Holloway family with false information. Van der Sloot's currently being held in Peru's Castro Castro prison in connection with accusations he killed Stephany Ramirez Flores, a 21-year-old Peruvian woman on May 30, five years to the day of Holloway’s 2005 disappearance.

Notre Dame Student Falls to His Death

Declan Sullivan, a 20-year-old Notre Dame student, fell to his death on Wednesday when the tower he was standing on collapsed while he was filming the school’s football practice. Shortly before he fell, he tweeted about being on the tower, “Holy [bleep]. Holy [bleep]. This is terrifying.” Forty-five minutes later, the tower collapsed, toppled by 60-mile-per-hour winds. Earlier, he had tweeted, “Gusts of wind up to 60 mph well today will be fun at work … I guess I’ve lived long enough.”

Hello?! As sad as this is does anyone see the irony in his last tweet?! This immediately reminds me of the Sex and the City episode (because life so oftern relates to it) when the girl from 3rd Rock From the Sun -Kristen whatever -was at the party and she was smoking by the window in a NY apartment and said I'm so bored I could die and then fell out the window!!

I am now reading Star Island which is about a pop star "Cherry Pye" whose life mimics the lives of Britney and Lindsay a.k.a. she is an outlandish character who is dumber than dirt and addicted to sex, drugs, and alcohol. Cherry's people hire this girl Ann to pretend to be Cherry while Cherry is at rehab or wherever else she may be. Now Ann just got kidnapped by a paparazzo, Bang Abott, who is holding Ann hostage while he gets the real Cherry Pye because he feels that she's going to kill herself with all the drugs she's on and he would like to be the photographer that made her a legend through her photos. It's sad how dumb this book is but yet how it really isn't too far off about young hollywood. It's a trashy book and so far I'm enjoying it. I'm now at the part where Bang and Ann had a gun in their hand and it shot off Bang's "Shooter Finger" and he's supposed to have the photo shoot with Cherry the next day.-Juciy stuff I tell ya.

So Miley Cyrus' new music video, "Who Owns My Heart?," has been slammed by the Parents Television Council. They released the statement, "It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one. It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly."

It's a little on the risquè side but I like it!! It's fine....she coulda ended up like the other Disney star-you know the red head in rehab...AGAIN. Too bad the lyrics are cheesy, but the beat is fun.

Thank you Cosmo for giving us recipes that mix baked good and alcohol. Now I can truly say..Happy Holidays!

Here is the main recipe:

Simple Vanilla Cupcakes
Makes 24 cupcakes
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups milk (preferably whole)
Preheat the oven to 375°. Line two cupcake pans with paper liners and set aside. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl using an electric mixer, beat the butter and the sugar until light and fluffy, about three minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then beat in the vanilla extract.
Add one-third of the flour mixture and beat to combine. Add half of the milk and beat to combine. Add another third of the flour, then the remaining milk, then the rest of the flour, beating to combine after each addition.
Divide the batter between the liners, filling each about 2/3 of the way full. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the cupcakes are golden-brown and spring back when pressed lightly. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely, then frost with Simple Buttercream Frosting.

Simple Buttercream Frosting
Makes enough frosting for 24 cupcakes
1 3/4 sticks unsalted butter, softened
6 to 8 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk (preferably whole)
In a large bowl, beat the butter with an electric mixer for 1 minute. Add 6 cups of confectioners’ sugar, the vanilla, and the milk. Beat on low speed until creamy. Gradually add the remaining confectioners’ sugar, a little at a time, until the frosting is thick and creamy.

9 Boozy Variations
1. Mint Julep Cupcakes: When preparing the cupcakes, reduce the vanilla extract to 1 teaspoon and add one teaspoon of bourbon. When preparing the frosting, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup and add 1/4 cup of bourbon. Garnish with chopped fresh mint leaves.
2. Malibu Madness Cupcakes: When preparing the cupcakes, reduce the vanilla extract to 1 teaspoon and add one teaspoon of coconut rum (such as Malibu). When preparing the frosting, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup and add 1/4 cup of coconut rum. Top with shredded sweetened coconut.
3. Cosmo Cupcakes: When preparing the cupcakes, omit the vanilla extract and replace with 2 teaspoons of orange liqueur (like triple sec). When preparing the frosting, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup and add 1/4 cup of cranberry flavored vodka and a dash of red food coloring. Put a pinch of freshly-grated lime zest on top.
4. Dark and Stormy Cupcakes: When preparing the cupcakes, add 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger with the flour. Reduce the vanilla extract to 1 teaspoon and add with 1 teaspoon of dark rum. When preparing the frosting, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup and add 1/4 cup of dark rum. Add 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger. Garnish with lime zest.
5. Coffee Chocolate Cupcakes: When preparing the cupcakes, reduce the flour to 2 cups and add 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. Reduce the vanilla to 1 teaspoon and add 1 teaspoon coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua). When preparing the frosting, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup and add 1/4 cup of coffee liqueur. Decorate with chopped chocolate covered coffee beans.
6. Lemon Drop Cupcakes: When preparing the cupcakes, reduce the vanilla to 1 teaspoon and add 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1 heaping tablespoon freshly grated lemon zest. When preparing the frosting, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup and add 1/4 cup of limoncello or lemon-flavored vodka (like Absolut Citron).
7. Sangria Cupcakes: When preparing the cupcakes, add 1 teaspoon cinnamon with the flour and 1 tablespoon freshly grated orange zest with the eggs. When preparing the frosting, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup and add 2 tablespoons of brandy, 2 tablespoons of fruity red wine, and a dash of red food coloring. Garnish with half a wheel of thinly sliced orange.
8. Cupcakes for Your Guy: When preparing the cupcakes, reduce the flour to 2 cups and add 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. Reduce the vanilla extract to 1 teaspoon and add one teaspoon whiskey. When preparing the frosting, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup and add 1/4 cup whiskey.
9. Berry Boozy Cupcakes: When preparing the cupcakes, after dividing the batter between the liners, spoon 1 teaspoon of raspberry jam in the center of each one. When preparing the frosting, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup and add 1/4 cup raspberry liqueur (such as Framboise). Top off each cupcake with a fresh raspberry.

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Danielle Staub has been fired from the Bravo reality show, according to a report from Life and Style Weekly.

Wait....WHAT!?!?

Staub was told she would not be returning for a third season, Life and Style reports. The decision was a “complete shock, and she thought she was definitely going to return” to the series, a source told the magazine.

Best known for her sex tape and a recent admission that she is “a member of the gay community,” Staub has been the black sheep of the cast and controversy queen, often at the center of any catfights among the New Jersey housewives.

According to Life and Style, Staub is trying to generate interest in a spinoff show that would focus on her life.

iPhone Users Have More Sex Than Android Users (REPORT)

After analyzing data from nearly 10,000 smartphone users, online dating website OkCupid has found what it says is "statistical proof that iPhone users aren't just getting [screwed] by Apple."
OkCupid tracked sexual activity (measured in number of partners) by smart phone brand. It found that, on average, a 30 year-old iPhone user has had twice as many sexual partners than an Android user of the same age. Thirty year-old BlackBerry users fall somewhere in the middle. See the chart below:

The online dating site's blog, OkTrends, says of the data: "We found this data as part of our general camera-efficacy analysis: we crossed all kinds of user behaviors with the camera models and found we had data on the number of sexual partners for 9,785 people with smart phones."
OkCupid also plotted a graph showing how the number of sexual partners varies according to smartphone brand and age. See chart below:

Phone retailer iPhone4u recently released the results of their own not-so-scientific study, which found that male iPhone users were luckier in love. As we wrote here, they reportedly surveyed 1,500 women and found that 54 percent of them said they would be more likely to date a man if he has an iPhone.

How to Avoid Hipster Names....

I read this and found it interesting....thought you would too. What are your favorite baby names?

1. DON’T NAME YOUR BABY AFTER A JAZZ MUSICIAN. No Ella, no Ray, no Miles. Nix on Billie, nyet on Bessie, never on Duke. And did you really think you were going to get away with Thelonious or Django? No and no. Lionel, however, is still genuinely cool.

2. NO NAMES OF GODS AND GODDESSES. We can blame the ultimate cool mommy blogger Dooce for this one. Her daughter is named Leta, which is derived from Leda, who was the mythological mother of Helen of Troy. And then, at the farmers’ market in Madison, Wisconsin, we heard a hipster dad calling to his toddler son, “Stop right there, Odin!” Zeus, Jupiter, Andromeda, and Pandora are all similarly hipster heaven.

3. AVOID THE NAMES OF HIGH-FALUTIN’ LITERARY CHARACTERS. Atticus, anyone? The more obscure and high-minded the character, the more hipster-worthy the name. So you’ll have to stay away from Scout, Daisy, Maisie, Holden and Gulliver. Soap opera character names remain safe if otherwise repellent bets.

4. AVOID THE NAMES OF HIGH-FALUTIN’ WRITERS. This is kind of a thin line. We’d say Auden, Austen, Flannery, Harper, Tennessee and Tennyson are dripping in hipsterdom; Edith, Eudora, and Ellison, still okay.

5. NO NAMES YOU MIGHT USE FOR A DOG. Prince, Duke, Max, Fifi: This kind of I’m-so-cool-I-don’t-care name should not be used for a human, even one you make yourself. Likewise do not name your dog Marian, Frederick, or Patricia.

6. IF A SUPERMODEL WOULD CHOOSE THIS NAME FOR HER BABY, STAY AWAY. Along with four-foot-long legs and cheekbones as wide as their shoulders, supermodels seem congenitally hip, and inevitably choose hipster names for their babies. (Yes, all supermodels seem to have babies.) Nameberry has a list ofSupermodel Baby Names, which run toward choices such as Neva, Presley, and Sahteene.

7. SIMILARLY AVOID NAMES CHOSEN BY HIPSTER CELEBRITIES. Matilda hits the hipster list because it was chosen by hipster parents Heath and Michelle. Romy is Sofia Coppolla’s pick and Roman Cate Blanchett’s; Ramona is Maggie Gyllenhaal’s choice and Moses is Gwynnie’s. While you’re at it, you should probably not use names of hipster celebrities themselves: Isla, Ewan, Scarlett.

8. STAY AWAY FROM NAMES OF PLACES YOU WOULD NEVER GO. Okay, so Savannah and London are overplayed. Hipster parents have therefore decamped to Alabama, Indiana, and Reno. And from there it’s all too easy to wander from hipster turf into maverick territory: right, Bristol Palin?

9. DON’T PICK ANY NAME THAT STARTS WITH I OR Z OR ENDS WITH X OR O.If this whole issue is way too confusing for you, just following this one simple rule and you should be all right. Forget Iris and Isaiah. Zoe and Zane. Pax and Maddox. Nico and Orlando. Done.

10. FORGET ALL HIGHLY UNFASHIONABLE AND HIDEOUSLY UGLY NAMES.One earmark (Hi, John McCain) of hipsterism is being so hip you can be totally unhip, so cool you can give your kid a name that’s entirely uncool. Like Edna. Or Ignatius. Or Myrtle. But as important as it may seem to avoid names that threaten to turn you into a hipster cliché, it’s even more essential to stay away from those that might make your teenager try to kill you while you sleep.

The Princeton Review announced Monday that Georgia is the No. 1 party school on its now infamous annual ranking. The school of about 30,000 students has been on the list 10 times since the ranking was created in 1992, but this is the first time the university has taken the top spot.

For the campus — surrounded by nearly 100 bars in tiny downtown Athens — parties are just part of life from August to May each year. Many students gear up for the weekend on Thursdays and sometimes don't rest until Monday morning. (ummmm doesn't everybody????)

Nearby Olympia, Wash., a two-hour drive fromPortland, may be a reasonable alternative for grads who don't mind sacrificing some street cred - it's a much smaller city, but unemployment and cost of living are lower.

PROS: Below-average rent, a walk-able (or bike-able!) average commute, plenty of microbreweries and hip coffee shops, innovative art and music scenes, no sales tax

CONS: Above-average cost of living, surprisingly high crime rate, notoriously rainy weather, an unemployment rate that skews almost a point above the average

Salt Lake City, Utah

Group homes abound.

Might Joran van der Sloot's confession be the Dutchman's key to getting a more lenient sentence from Peru's justice system?
According to police investigators in Lima, van der Sloot, 22, told them that he had met Stephany Flores Ramirez, 21, at a casino and ended up with her in a room he was renting in a low-budget hotel in Miraflores, one of Lima's swankier neighborhoods. After Flores and he awoke early on May 30, van der Sloot said that he went out to get coffee and rolls. When he returned, he said Flores was using his laptop. Van der Sloot, according to police sources, said Flores had pulled up information relating to his alleged involvement in the case of Natalee Holloway, a young American who went missing in Aruba in 2005. Van der Sloot, who had been the prime suspect in the Holloway case, said Flores' snooping sent him into a rage. "It was an invasion of my privacy. She had no right," he allegedly told the investigating officers. He said they fought and he beat her repeatedly, breaking her neck.

Rage is a key element in the confession that could conceivably get van der Sloot a lighter sentence. "The confession is part of a strategy to show that the murder was not premeditated to keep the sentence to a minimum," says Luis Lamas Puccio, a well-known criminal lawyer in Lima. Indeed, detectives are furious that van der Sloot's court-appointed lawyer, Rosa Camargo, has "manipulated the case and planted the idea of a crime of passion," in the words of one detective.

In Peru, a crime of passion could lead to a sentence as low as seven years, which could mean that van der Sloot walks in three or four years.

This man confesses to killing an innocent woman and could possibly walk in 3 or 4 years!?! If I stole bread from Big Y I think I'd face a longer sentence (I may be exaggerating but you catch my drift...)

Lima, Peru – Joran van der Sloot, a Dutchman under arrest in Peru, has confessed to murdering university student Stephany Flores Ramirez here last week.
Peru’s news radio station, Radio Programas, reported late Monday night that Mr. van der Sloot admitted to police investigators that he killed Stephany Flores, 21, early in the morning on May 30.
An officer in the National Policeâ€™s criminal investigation unit confirmed to the Monitor that van der Sloot confessed to the crime.
Van der Sloot told officers that he had briefly left the room in the Hotel Tac at 8:10 am to buy breakfast. He returned with two coffees and bread to find Flores Ramirez surfing the Internet on his laptop.
Don't mess with my laptop!Van der Sloot related to officers that Flores was reading details of the case involving Natalee Holloway, the Alabama teen who disappeared five years earlier on the same day. Van der Sloot had been arrested twice in that case, but released for lack of evidence. Holloway has never been found.
Flores and van der Sloot argued and he struck her to retrieve his computer. The beating continued for several minutes. Officers say there is no evidence that Flores fought back.
"I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life," he told investigators, according to Peru's La Republica newspaper. "She had no right."
"I confronted her," he continued. "She was frightened, we argued and she wanted to get away. I grabbed her by the neck and I hit her."
Van der Sloot's escape to ChileThe daily El Comercio reported on Tuesday that van der Sloot said everything happened quickly and within 10 minutes of having returned with breakfast he was out the door again. He grabbed a bag and decided to leave Peru, eventually traveling by land throughout Sunday and crossing the border into neighboring Chile, 650 miles south of Lima, the following day.
Video from hotel security cameras show Van der Sloot and Ms. Flores Ramirez entering Van der Sloot's hotel room together at 5 a.m. Saturday and Van der Sloot leaving alone four hours later with his bags.
He was detained in Chile on June 3 and quickly expelled to Peru.
Peruvian investigators have been questioning him since Saturday. They have possession of the computer he claimed Flores had been searching when he killed her.
Round-the-clock surveillanceOfficers say that van der Sloot has remained calm in the holding cell where he is being kept in the offices of the investigative police. He is under 24-hour observation. The confession means that he will likely be transferred to one of two maximum-security prisons in Lima while the investigation continues and authorities determine how to charge him.
If charged with homicide, that would take off the table the potential charge of aggravated robbery, which carries a life sentence here. Officers had been investigating leads that van der Sloot had killed Flores to steal her winnings (about $1,000) from a hot streak at the local casino where they had met.
Van der Sloot could face between 15 and 30 years for murder, with the severity depending on how the prosecutor views the evidence.
First degree murder would get him the maximum sentence and few opportunities for parole.
The five-year old disappearance of Holloway could play a big part in van der Sloot receiving the maximum sentence even though he was not charged in that case and has not confessed to her death, say legal experts.
Parole benefits?A lesser charge could mean 15 years and two-for-one benefits in which each day served counts as two if the inmates works, studies, and is generally well-behaved.
The question of such benefits is a top-of-mind issue in Peru these days in the wake of another high-profile case involving Lori Berenson, the American woman paroled in late May after serving three-fourths of her 20-year sentence. There have been calls from lawmakers for the Justice Ministry to eliminate benefits for heinous crimes.

After initially denying involvement, Dutch national Joran van der Sloot has admitted to Peruvian police that he killed Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel room, according to reports.

The 22-year-old, previously a suspect in U.S. teen Natalee Holloway's disappearance, confessed to the murder of the Peruvian woman late Monday, CNN reports. He could be charged as early as Tuesday and faces up to 35 years in prison.

The country does not have the death penalty or life sentences. According to CNN, Van der Sloot might have been influenced by Peru's practice of handing down lighter sentences in the case of confession.

Lima, Peru – Peruvian police officers are itching for the opportunity to grill Joran van der Sloot, a Dutchman accused of murdering a young woman here earlier this week.
Mr. van der Sloot was detained by Chilean police Thursday, a day after the body of 21-year-old Stephany Flores was discovered in a hotel room in Lima.
Police investigators have determined that Ms. Flores, a university student, and van der Sloot, who is 23, met last weekend at a casino. Police have film footage from the Atlantic City Casino in Lima showing the couple leaving together. Police say that Ms. Flores was killed in the early morning hours of May 30; van der Sloot entered Chile the following day at a overland border crossing.
This is the second time van der Sloot has been implicated in a high-profile murder case – with both happening, eerily, on the same day five years apart. He was arrested, but released twice, for the May 30, 2005 murder of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway on the island of Aruba. Her body was never located.
Peru’s police claim that while evidence was sparse in the Holloway case, the same is not true for the crime here.
Evidence of a struggleInvestigators say Flores’s body showed obvious signs of struggle and has provided evidence. There is also the casino video – van der Sloot was in Peru for a poker tournament – and the fact that he rented the room in the Hotel Tac where the murder took place. While unable to provide details, Peruvian police General Cesar Guardia said there was “ample evidence implicating the suspect in this murder.”
Peru’s Interior Ministry has asked Chilean authorities to transport van der Sloot to the border and that he be deported to Peru. Sources in the police department said officers from the National Criminal Investigation Unit were dispatched to the border on Thursday night. They expect van der Sloot to be transferred back to Lima this weekend, at the latest.
The murder of the Peruvian college student has touched the National Police in a particular way. Ricardo Flores, the young woman’s father, is president of the civic committee that supports the police’s internal affairs division. “He is a great man who has always been loyal to the police. We have no doubts that we will solve this case,” says one officer who has worked with Mr. Flores on events organized to help officers in need.
Victim's father is well-know figureFlores is also a well-known figure in other Peruvian circles. He is a former race car driver, event promoter, entrepreneur, and occasional politician. He has run for local, legislative, and national office, but has never been elected. He was also implicated, like thousands of other businesspeople and politicians in Peru, in the corruption web that brought down former president Alberto Fujimori’s regime (1990-2000) nearly 10 years ago.
Once back in Peru, van der Sloot will be held for an initial 24-hour arrest warrant. The police can then request that the judge assigned to the case extend the detention for seven to 14 days to further the investigation. The judge will determine whether to keep the suspect behind bars or release him while he awaits trial. The investigative police say van der Sloot is unlikely to be let out on bail.
There was also a new twist in the five-year-old Holloway case as events were unfolding in Peru and Chile. The US Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama charged Van der Sloot with fraud as he was being arrested in Chile. The Associated Press reported that the charges relate to him having offered information on the Holloway case in exchange for $250,000.

Breaking News: Joran van der Sloot arrested

An Interpol spokesperson tells In Session former Natalee Holloway case suspect Joran van der Sloot has been apprehended in Chile.

Van der Sloot is the main suspect in the stabbing death of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez. The victim’s father told our sister network, CNN en Español, that Ramirez was last seen alive leaving a casino in Peru with van der Sloot.
Right now van der Sloot is on his way to Santiago, and will be extradited as soon as possible.

Joran Van der Sloot, the Dutch national who was arrested twice and later released in the disappearance of U.S. teen Natalee Holloway, has been named the prime suspect in the murder of a Peruvian woman, according to local reports.

Stephany Flores Ramirez, 21, the daughter of racecar driver and businessman Ricardo Flores, disappeared Friday and was found dead Wednesday morning in a hotel room in the country's capital, Peruvian newspaper El Comercio reports.

Peruvian police and Ramirez's father said she was last seen with Van der Sloot, 22, whose name was registered under the hotel room where Ramirez's body was found. According to police reports, she was brutally stabbed and wrapped in blanket.

"I hope that this crime does not go unpunished," Flores said outside his home Wednesday. He also pleaded with police to locate Van der Sloot, who left Peru on Monday and is now in Chile, according to Interpol officials.

Van der sloot, who was named a suspect after Holloway disappeared during a May 2005 graduation trip in Aruba, was arrested and charged with her murder. But without evidence to detain him further or bring him to trial, police released him. He was re-arrested in November 2007 – charged with manslaughter that time – but quickly set free.

Despite his apparent confession to the crime – a video back in February 2008 allegedly showed Van der Sloot telling a friend he disposed of Holloway's body – Van der Sloot says he lied during the secret recording, which had been arranged by a Dutch crime reporter.

Though police have never been able to locate Holloway, the Alabama teen's mom, Beth, says she's still holding out hope for justice and a resolution.

"I feel like more information could certainly come at any time," Beth recently told PEOPLE. "Hopefully one day I won’t have to speculate. I just can't wait for that day."

So I just finished reading Kelly Cutrone's book, "If You Have To Cry Go Outside: And other Things Your Mother Never Told You," and I must say....I LOVED it. It was so great, I read it in two days. It starts by saying that her dream wasn't to be a publicist, her dream was to be in NYC. Later in life she found her calling and fell into the right hands, but the overall message is that life is what you make of it. If you have a dream-follow it. Even if you find yourself on your ass, at least you can say you tried and move on to the next dream. I'm a big believe in that and the fact that you can choose your own destiny no matter what path you decide to take. It's a feel good book-trust me you'll like it.

Mercy: TV Show Cancelled by NBC; No Season Two

At the start of the season, we wondered which new NBC medical drama had the best chance at survival — Mercy or Trauma. It was hard to decide but now, they’ve both been cancelled anyway.
Mercy follows the lives of three very different nurses at Mercy Hospital in Jersey City. The cast includes Taylor Schilling, Jaime Lee Kirchner, Michelle Trachtenberg, James Tupper, Diego Klattenhoff, Guillermo Diaz, James LeGros, James Van Der Beek, and Delroy Lindo.
The medical drama got off to a pretty poor start last September, attracting a 2.3 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 8.25 million total viewers. Unfortunately, viewership fell even lower from there.
Despite the ratings, NBC ordered a full season of episodes, likely because the network needed the original programming. Though NBC’s Primetime Entertainment President Angela Bromstad said she liked the show creatively, she noted that the show’s ratings had to improve for it to survive.
The ratings didn’t improve. The most recent episode attracted only a 1.1 rating in the demo and 4.01 million viewers.
To no surprise, the Mercy TV show’s now been cancelled. The 20th and final episode aired last Wednesday, May 12th. Unfortunately, it wasn’t intended to be a series finale and didn’t wrap up the show.
